Short Biography

Moved from Portugal to the UK four years ago and have been developing games professionally ever since. Worked at Feral Interactive, Bossa Studios before I decided to start freelancing.

Now I’m developing my own game called Rosvita (http://rosvita-game.com) while still doing freelance work.

CURRENT INTERESTS:

1. What current technologies and tools fulfill your needs in your practice?

Unity 3D, C++ and a miscellanea of external tools for assets editing.
Usually developing for PC, Mac, iOS and Android.

2. What technologies do you see emerging in the next 5-10 years?

Virtual Reality and specially Augmented Reality. Hololens, Occulus Rift, etc.

3. Could you identify any strengths and weaknesses with these technologies?

They present exciting and new interaction design challenges to games developers.

FUTURE INTERESTS:

4. Do you think there are additional technologies or tools needed, or that you would wish for?

AR and VR devices, motion controllers e.g. Omni, body suits for consumer use at home

 5. If these were available what would you be creating?

Richer and more impactful experiences that fully explore visual, sound and touch senses.

6. Can you see any strengths and weakness involved?

Possible player isolation but that is not new concern.

7. What do you recommend to fill the gap between creators and technology providers?

There is a gap that should be bridged by working together and collaboration.
