Short Biography

Dave is a great dedicated teacher and lecturer as well as being my supervisor for my final year project. He is enthusiastic and gives plentiful of helpful feedback and the steps necessary to push my skills and other students to the next level. He is an awesome teacher to work with for the past 2 years.


1. What current technologies and tools fulfill your needs in your practice?

Scanning devices, motion capture, Desktop PCs, Adobe software, Unity 3D and Unreal engines, High resolution displays

2. What technologies do you see emerging in the next 5-10 years?

Smart AI, Procedurally generated environments, more realistic immersive environments

3. Could you identify any strengths and weaknesses with these technologies?

Motion Sickness (Rift) – inability to see your hands


4. Do you think there are additional technologies or tools needed, or that you would wish for?

More impressionist graphics tools, more immersive environments, AI


5. If these were available what would you be creating?

Totally immersive environments that linked multiple physical locations

6. Can you see any strengths and weakness involved?

Too much focus on realism and total immersion
